Bishop Joshua Banda, Zambia
Focus of Studies: Bishop Banda’s work focuses on the HIV/AIDS crisis, a field in which he has done considerable work. His previous experience includes the founding of the Hope Clinic, which provides anti-retroviral drugs to more than 800 AIDS patients each month. About Joshua: Bishop Banda arrived in the UK this September to begin his PhD at OMCS. He is a pastor, bishop, and educator with national responsibilities in the Assemblies of God denomination in Zambia. In addition, he is a key leader in the church’s efforts to combat HIV/AIDS in the region, currently leading a multi-denominational group in conjunction with World Vision, Children AIDS Fund and others. Family: Joshua and his wife, Gladys, have four children. Prayer Request: Joshua will spend time in the UK and in Africa during his studies. The months in England will mean separation from his family.
