Pontien Batibuka, Congo

Focus of Studies: Pontien’s PhD will focus on the integration of the Christian faith into the life and actions of the Congolese people. He believes this topic to be very pertinent, as many in this war torn nation have professed to follow Christ, but violence and hatred in the country continue.

About Pontien: After his degree, Pontien will return as the only resident member of the New Testament faculty at Bunia Theological Seminary in the Congo.

Family: Pontien and his wife Bernadette have five teen and young adult children—Innocent, Julius, Vincent, Rose and Daniel.

Prayer Request: Pontien is in London without his family and asks for prayer as they both adjust to his absence. He asks for prayer that the Lord will provide funds so that he can return to Congo from time to time.
