Yacouba Sanon, Burkina Faso

Studies: Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; Class of 2011 

Focus of Studies: Yacouba is currently studying Hebrew, Advanced Theological Prolegomena and The Art of Research. His research will focus on the issue of suffering in the Old Testament. He believes this is an important topic for the African context where so many people experience pain and tragedy on a regular basis.

About Yacouba: Yacouba serves on the faculty at West African Alliance Theological Seminary in the Ivory Coast, a strategic school for French speaking Africa. He and his family arrived in the US in August. They have been adjusting and getting involved at Christ Church, Lake Forest. Their son has begun ESL classes at school, which has been very helpful for him. The family rejoices in the provision of a car and the meeting of many of their needs in the first months.

Family: Yacouba and his wife, Marie-Laure have one son, Josias, who is 11 years old. 

Prayer Request: Yacouba asks for prayer that he may have focus on his studies and that he and his family will have balance in their lives.
